it's been a while since i played that level but if i remember correctly you need to spend quite a lot of your time destroying tanks on the ground with your rockets, also, try to destroy as many of the troop transport ships as you can early on, that will make your job easier later.

There are three Midway levels, two of which you defend a base or airstrip, so I'm not sure which one you're referring to, but if your talking about the bomber squadrons bombing the airstrip, this is how I did it.

There are a couple of things your can do. First, if your a newbie, use your team to attack the bomber squadrons if you can't blow them all up on your own. Fly straight at the bomber squadron and when you are close enough that your cross hairs appear, hit the top of the D-pad until your squadron goes to red/attack mode.

After you get good at this, you will be able to blow up the first 2 bombers squadrons before having to put your wingmen into attack mode, but the first time through, use that strategy to blow them all up.

When you see the next bomber squadron, leave any remaining bombers, hit your D-pad until you have your team in white/formation mode and fly again at the next bombers squadron. Follow the same strategy.

The third or fourth bomber squadron will be much closer to the island than the other ones, so you want to take care to break off the attack sooner than with the previous ones.

After you have destroyed all the bombers, the zeros will be left and they will be all over you, so you want to put your wingmen into blue/defense mode.

Tips: bank around and get behind the bombers and then slow down by taking your thumb off the left analog stick or by pulling back on it when you get bombers in your cross hairs. This will keep you from overshooting your targets and having to bank around too many times. Too much turning and banking will mean time delays in blowing up enough of the bombers to get a head start on the following bomber squadrons.

Actually, there are only two Midway levels. The one I refer to is listed above.

How do you beat the level where you have to defend the bombers? Where you have 12 bombers that you have to defend and the escort them? I have tried over and over on this and cannot get through it.

i think you might be talking about Rabul raid, if so stay with your bombers and kill any thing that tries to kill them but when they get to the airstrip destroy the turrets and stuff on the ground to stop them from shooting the bombers. I think that level only ends when your bombers die so protect the bombers.

I need to know where to get a stratagy Guide or a web-site with a walkthrough for the stage when you have to protect the 4 units of ground troops on 2 seperate islands. The New Georgia Islands. The game instructs you to destroy all of the tanks. I have killed all of the tanks as fast as I can , but no matter what I try the 172nd troops always die and the stage ends. i noticed this at first. dont come in from the way you left, i had to land so iw as facing the same way as when i started. just keep on teh brake. it took me just over the whole runway before my plane stopped. try it the wrong way, and you crash into buildings at the other end
