When you go to 100 Acre Woods, if you have one of the pages of the book, a new area will open automatically on the map of Merlin's book but the page won't leave your stock. You will know what area opened because that area of the map will no longer be covered by a white patch. Also, you have to beat that area of the map before a new one will open. So, if you have 3 pages of the book, you still can't use them until you beat whatever challenge is in the first area. You will know if you have successfully beaten an area of the map because if you do, the page of the map that was in your stock then turns into a magical item (the game will alert you when this happens) and if you have another page of the book a new area will open.
