How to set up 2 player game

when you want to play in 2 player mode pause the game and press L1 or L2 or L2 or R2 and keep doing this untill you get to the screen where it shows two cryptios
player 1 will be on the left and he will be lit up and player 2 will be on the left and he will be dark to make him light so player 2 will be in the game player 2 press x and your guy will light up and then player1 press triangle to resume the game.
(remember that only player 1 can pause the game to get player 2 back in when he is out. and only player 2 can drop out not player 1.).
