In the cave near where you get the ice rod will be a statue of a fairy. Ram into the statue and a glittering bee will come flying out. Catch it with the net. You can release this bee and it will destroy all the enemies for you then come back to you. So it will never run away like regular bees would. Just don't go on to the next screen with it out or you will lose it.
