To get to world 9, on world 2 (the desert one with Pyramids) defeat both the people like things on the map (the ones walking about).
One of them will leave a hammer in the chest. Go to the most north-east part and use the hammer (L).
This will reveal a little hidden area. In this area the will be a mushroom house (you get a frog suit) and another walking creature thing (actually 2 fire-breathing things).
Defeat both to get a chest, in the chest is a flute. On the world map use the flute. It will take you to world 9.
On world 9 there is lots of pipes that take you to different worlds.
