If you go into the second warp pipe at the very beginning of the level, and go through the door at the bottom it will take you to a room where there is a box in front of you. Push it toward the door you came out of so that you can jump on it to get to the higher platforms. You'll find a vase, which you'll have to shove off the edge of a platform to break, and in which you'll find the key. Happy hunting!
