How do you upgrade your mines??? I keep trying but it doesn't work!

Well for me I just go as soon as I wake up with the hammer equiped.The first one just do that.The second one reach level 10 in the first one.The third one reach level 255 in the second one.The final one reach level 999 in the third one.After you reach the required floor just go right when you wake up the next morning with your hammer equiped.Note:the fourth mine has over 65000 floors
